The Lady Titan softball team raised their record to 7-3 with a 17-0 victory over the Monroe Central Bears. Chloe Gentry was in the circle for the Titans for the shutout, giving up only three hits in the game. Gentry had 12 strikeouts and not walks in the 5 inning affair in Farmland. Tri scored early in the game plating 7 runs in the first inning and 8 in the second inning. They added two more in the third to make the final 17-0. 
Chloe Gentry led the game off by getting hit by a pitch. She stole second and third base to put herself in scoring position. Cayla Claar hit a ground ball to the shortstop who tried to get Gentry at the plate but it was not in time. Claar advanced to second on the throw to the plate. Cheyenne Lee singles to move Claar to third. Lee stole second on the next pitch to put both runners in scoring position. Kennedy Peggs reached on a throwing error by the shortstop which also allowed both runners to score. Anastasia Sorrell singled in Peggs who advanced to second on a past ball the previous pitch. Bailey Parham hits a single to move Sorrell to third. Parham steals second, and Maleah Hewitt hits a double to clear the bases. Hewitt advances to third on a past ball and Morgan grounded out to the right side scoring Hewitt making it 7-0 after a half inning. 
In the second Tri scores 8 more runs on 6 hits and 3 Bears miscues. Peggs had a single and a double with two RBI’s. Gentry, Claar, Lee and Parham all had singles and scored to help build the Tri Lead. Rylee Boyd also scored a run in the inning. Gentry continued to mow down the Bears line-up as the defense held tight for the Titans. In the third inning Tri scored two more runs on 4 hits. Gentry doubled and scored a run. Claar and Lee also had doubles but did not score in the inning. Hewitt had a single in the stanza but did not score. Boyd scored the other run after reaching by a fielder’s choice. Trinity Mettert also had a hit in the game for Tri. Tri play Shenandoah Monday.
