The Lady Titan softball team’s bats woke up early Saturday morning to score 17 runs on 17 hits including two home runs to defeat Morristown 17-1. The home team scored runs in every inning in support of Chloe Gentry in the circle. Gentry gave up one run on two hits and had 11 strikeouts in the game. Tri raised their record to 10-4 on the season. 
In the first inning Morristown got on the board first with a lead-off single by Kristen Whitney the jackets left fielder. She stole second base and was scored on a double by Kaylin Waltz then hit a double to score Whitney before Gentry shut down the jackets the rest of the way. Tri answered in the bottom of the inning scoring 4 runs on 4 hits. Chloe Gentry led off by reaching first base on an error by the Jackets first baseman. Gentry stole second and Ashlynn Boyd singled to knock in Gentry. Cheyenne Lee doubled to put Boyd and herself in scoring position at second and third. Kennedy Peggs hit the ball on the right side of the infield to ground out but Boyd scored on the play. Lee scored on an errant from the first baseman to home after the ground out. Anastasia Sorrell then hit a solo home run to put Tri up 4-0 after one.
Gentry mowed down the batters from Morristown to get the Titans back to the plate for more offense. Gentry again led the second off by being hit by a pitch and Boyd got on by an error and Gentry went to third on that play. Cheyenne Lee hit a sacrifice fly to score Gentry. Kennedy Peggs then stepped to the plate and blasted a two run home run over the left field fence to put Tri up 7-0. Ana Sorrell singled and Bailey Parham followed that at bat with another single. Sorrell was thrown out attempting to steal third. Maleah Hewitt then doubled scoring Parham. Freshman Rylee Boyd then singled in Hewitt to put Tri up 9-1.
In the third Gentry continued her dominance of the Jackets batting order by facing only three batters. Tri continued the scoring onslaught by tallying 6 runs in the bottom of the frame. With one out Ashlynn Boyd reaches first by being hit by a pitch. She advanced to second by a wild pitch and was driven in on a double by Cheyenne Lee. Peggs got on by an error, and Ana Sorrell hit an rbi single to score Lee. Titan runners advanced on a wild pitch and Bailey Parham singled Peggs home for another Titan run. Maleah Hewitt then had a rbi double to right center field. Rylee Boyd grounded out to third scoring Parham from third. Chloe Gentry hit a rbi double scoring Hewitt putting the Titans up 15-1
Morristown only sent 6 batters to the plate the next two innings, all failing to reach safely. In the bottom of the fourth Kennadi Knepley and Trinity Baker both singled to put two Titan runners on base. Knepley scored on a rbi single by Vikki Pursley. Bailey Parham then hit a deep sacrifice fly to score Baker to end the Titan scoring. Tri plays at home next against conference foe Winchester on Monday.
