The Lady Titan softball team ended their conference season with a 13-1 win over Union City. Tri finished the conference with a 5-2 mark and now have a 17-3 record. Payton Moore had another excellent performance on the mound giving up two hits and striking out 14 batters. It took the Titans a few innings to shake off the effects of a long journey to Union City but once they got going they put the pressure on the Indians to keep up.
Tri got on the board in the first inning, Payton Moore got on by a throwing error when the Indians pitcher’s throw to first on a bunt. Moore advanced to second on the overthrow. She then stole third and scored on the overthrow by the catcher. Giving Tri an early 1-0 lead. That is the way the score reamained until the 4th inning.
In the 4th Tri scored three runs on three hits. Kaley Harrison lead off with a single and stole second base to put her self into scoring position. Breanna Reece drove her in with an RBI double to left field. Bailey Coffman then hit a triple to right field scoring Reece. Coffman then crossed the plate on a wild pitch by Indians pitcher. That gave the Titans a 4-0 lead after four innings.
In the Tri put three more runs on the board. Lauren Bouslog lead the inning off with her third hit a single to left field. She stole second base and Kirsten Falck hit a triple to right field to push Bouslog across the plate. Kierstyn Conyers then drove a single up the middle to allow Falck to cross the plate. Kaley Harrison then doubled to advance Conyers to third. Breanna Reece then hit a sacrifice fly to left field to bring in Conyers to bring the score to 7-0.
In the sixth with two outs Jessie Spong got a walk and stole second base to put herself in scoring position. Lauren Bouslog drove her in on her fourth hit of the evening. Kirsten Falck then singled to right center field moving Bouslog to third. On the attempt to get Bouslog at third Falck moved over to second base. Kierstyn Conyers then singled to score Bouslog making the score 9-0 after 6 innings. In the bottom of the 6th the Indians scored their lone run. After earning a lead off walk, The Indian runner advance to second on a wild pitch. Jimmers singled to right center field to score the run.
In the 7th Tri tacked on four insurance runs. Breanna Reece lead the inning off with a base on balls. She advanced to second on an Abi Busby single. The runners advanced on a wild pitchBailey Coffman reached on a throwing error by pitcher scoring both runners and advanced to third on the throwing error. Coffman then scored on a wild pitch. Destiny Taylor gets on base when the first baseman prematurely pulls her foot off the base on the throw. Taylor advance to second on a wild pitch and Kirsten Falck then drove her in with her third hit of the night. Payton Moore retired the Indians in order in the bottom of the 7th.
