Tri High Titan wrestling team wins first dual meet
Â STRAUGHN, IND. â The Tri High wrestling team defeated the Daleville Broncos in the first dual meet of the season on Tuesday. The final score of the meet was 48 to 36.
Â Ryan Mogg started off the night with a pin against Dalevilleâs Chris Armstrong in the 195 pound weight class. Triâs Carson Cook and Robbie Pandoli fell to the Broncoâs 220 and 285 pound wrestlers Corbin Maddox and Cody Brown. Trai Ervine picked up a win against Dalevilleâs 106 pound Willow Cunnington to temporarily tie the meet. Josh Peavie earned the only forfeit of the evening, adding 6 points to Triâs score. Â Tri kept the winning trend going by securing pins in the following weight classes: 120lbs. (Kennedy Louks), 132lbs. (Christian Faith), 138lbs. (Rodrigo Tenorio), and 145lbs. (Bryce Campbell). With only 2 matches left, the score was 42 to 30. Tri High had to secure at least one more win to ensure a victory over the Broncos. Next up to wrestle was Justin Greene. He fell to his opponent Dylan Hicks, leaving the fate of the meet up to junior Josiah Jackson. Jackson pinned his 182 pound opponent Diego Sanchez in the first period of his match, securing a win for himself and the Titan wrestling team.
Â Â The Titans will be on the mat again at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 1 at Muncie Central High School in a triple dual meet against Anderson, Winchester, and Muncie Central High Schools.
